Valentine Card Party Fundraiser for the Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church Religious Education Programs

On Monday, February 11th, 2019, come out to the Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, located at 360 Newcastle Boulevard in Newcastle (Miramichi West) for a Valentine Card Party Fundraiser for the Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church Religious Education Programs. The doors open at 6:30 pm, with the games beginning at 7:00 pm, and will consist of the following games: Auction 45’s, Cribbage and Bridge. Donations of prizes and food for a light lunch would be greatly appreciated. Prizes can be dropped off in the boxes in place at the church entrances or to the Parish Religious Education office (located in the basement of Saint Mary’s) and donations of food can be dropped off to the hall after 1 pm on Monday, February 11th, 2019. Everyone is welcome and we thank you for supporting the Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church Religious Education Programs.

Saint Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church Seeking New Choir Director and Choir Members

Saint Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church is seeking a new Choir Director and Choir Members. The Church is located at 89 Bartibog Church Road in Bartibog Bridge, just 15 minutes from the City of Miramichi. They welcome anyone who is interested in singing! They practice every Sunday morning at 10:00 am until the weekly Sunday Mass at 10:30 am. They also will need a new choir director in 2019 so if you know of anyone who could help us out please call the Saint Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church Rectory at 1-506-773-4064. The present director is willing to assist to ease the transition.

2019 Annual White Gold Dinner and Concert

A yearly tradition in-conjunction and sponsored the 62nd Annual Miramichi Folksong Festival, the 2019 Annual White Gold Dinner and Concert will be taking place at the Miramichi Beaverbrook Kinsmen Centre, 100 Newcastle Boulevard on Sunday, February 10th, 2019. Supper is at 5pm with your choice of Stuffed Chicken Breast or Roast Beef. Gluten Free and Vegetarian options are also available! Rotary Club of Newcastle Donates to the Miramichi Minor Football Association

The Rotary Club of Newcastle is proud to announce that our committee has provided the Miramichi Minor Football Association with a donation of $1000 that went towards the purchase of 4 new helmets. The helmets on display in the picture have the new logo which is the head of a MINOTAUR. A minotaur is a beast from Greek mythology that is half human and half beast. The beast portion resembles the head of a bull. Each helmet shown in the picture represents the portion of funds donated by Rotary and now have a Rotary logo attached to the back of each helmet.

A Night of Laughs

The J.M.H. (James M. Hill Memorial High School) Alumni is hosting “A Night of Laughs” at the Riverside Entertainment Center Inc., located at 2546 King George Highway, Miramichi, (Douglastown) on Saturday, February 9th, 2019, from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The host is Paddy Quinn, and Local Comedian Jimmy MacKinley will have you laughing all night long! Again this year with a few tweaks will be The Dating Game and The Not So Newlywed Game. There will be a Martini Bar, Chinese Auction and a 50 / 50 also available. All proceeds will go back to James M. Hill Memorial High School.

Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition awards more than $10,000 in stipends to Canadian fire departments

With support from The Co-operators and the Canadian Automatic Sprinkler Association (CASA), the nonprofit Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition (HFSC) awarded stipends of up to C$1,000 each to 12 Canadian fire departments in 2018 to help them build and host side-by-side fire and sprinkler demonstrations.

Miramichi NB rock and roll singer/songwriter Art Murphy has released a new EP entitled “Dreams And Memories”. The EP includes his compositions,”City Nights”, “Foggy Air City Lights”, “Party Of One”, “Till The End” and “My Nelson Girl”. There are also 2 songs on the EP that Art released as singles in 2006 and 2007. The 2 bonus selections are the songs “Butte Montana” and “The Last Buoy Bell”. EP’s will be available at Salt Water Sounds in Miramichi NB as well as other locations around the province as of Oct 1 2018.

Angels Remembered Tree Lighting And Other Ways to Support Hospice Miramichi Programs

As Hospice Miramichi is a charitable organization we need to fundraise in order to offset the costs of delivering our free programs to the most vulnerable members of our community. These individuals are experiencing the effects of progressive life limiting illnesses and as a result tend to isolate themselves in their homes. Volunteers with Hospice Miramichi’s Outreach and Day Hospice Programs are able to show the individual that even though they are ill, they still matter and can make a difference in their community.

Beaubear Co-Op 2018 Annual General Meeting
