The 7th Annual Purse Auction happens November 2 at the MAEA from 6-12 PM. Tables of eight are available, cost is $25 per person. Tickets can be purchased at Scotiabank (Chatham or Newcastle), or Brookdales and Town Hill Jewelry in Newcastle, as well as by contacting Newcastle Rotary Club members. CM Dickison & Sons, a well-known pharmacy throughout the Miramichi, was founded by Charles M Dickison in February 1921, after he operating another pharmacy since March 1910 with a business partner. In 1921 he had associated with his three sons, Albert, Roy and Charles D, all certified drug clerks. From 1921 to 1954 the business was carried on in the MacMillan Block, Ellen Street. On October 21, 1954 they moved into their spacious new store on Henry Street one of the most up to date pharmacies in the province.

The idea to build a Corn Maze in Nelson (Miramichi) was planted in my head close to a decade ago. I had seen a maze online and was fascinated by the idea. However, the seed laid dormant as my wife and me – like many other Miramichi’ers- moved away from home in pursuit of employment. We had moved a lot over the years, and we finally settled – we thought- in Fort McMurray, Alberta in 2014.
