Join City of Miramichi Mayor Adam Lordon as he greets Keynote Speaker John Norman on Monday, June 24th at 6:30 pm at the Vogue Theatre. John Norman is the dynamic young mayor of Bonavista, NL who has been credited with turning his community into a “mecca for millennial”
The Miramichi Senior Citizens Home Inc. is in need of volunteers to join their team. They are in need of people with the delivery of hot nutritious meals to members of the Miramichi community through their Meals and Wheels program.
Register by June 30th for this two day paint event! Over the course of the weekend you will create two beautiful oil paintings to bring home, that you painted yourself, meet new friends and have lots of fun! Homemade breakfast and lunch will be served both days along with dinner on Saturday. After dinner we’ll enjoy a 2 hour boat cruise aboard the Max Aitken from leaving from Ritchie Wharf.
The 2nd Annual Stephen “Steve” Lee Morris Memorial Bike Run will be taking place on Saturday, July 6th, 2019. Classic and Antique cars are also welcome to join the bikes and follow them.
The Miramichi Rock and Roll Festival and RiverMade productions invite you to join our Main Street Teens and dust off your leather jackets, pull on your bobby-socks and take a trip to a simpler time as Danny and Sandy fall in love all over again with Grease – The Musical on the MIramichi from June 26th, to July 1st, 2019. Showtimes are all at 7 pm at the James M. Hill Memorial High School Theatre.

Local chefs are taking advantage of the local food movement by serving farm to table menu options and choosing fresh local ingredients whenever possible. Creating the Words on Water Miramichi literary trail began with Sandra Bunting’s vision to honour the rich literary talent of this community for the stories and poems inspired by the unique culture, rivers and landscapes of the Miramichi. Authors David Adams Richards, Doug Underhill, Ray Fraser and Wayne Curtis are honoured with indoor and outdoor installations featuring art and engraved quotes from their work. The indoor installations feature Valerie Sherrard and Chuck Bowie.
On May 20th Jessica Lange started her journey of running 26 marathons in 26 days from Quebec City to Halifax and from Paris to Chartres in France, where her younger brother lives with schizophrenia. Her goal is to raise money and awareness to support mental illnesses. She will be running into Miramichi this weekend and staying with Lill Jenkins for a short rest before continuing her run.
From 6am to 7pm on Wednesday, May 8th, 2019, come out to McDonalds Miramichi,to help support Miramichi McHappy Day / 26th Annual McHappy Day!

The Blackville Credit Union is hosting their 82nd Annual General Meeting and Dinner on Tuesday, April 30, 2019. The event will begin at 7:00pm at the Father AA McKinnon Memorial Hall (Saint Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church Hall), 105 Main Street in Blackville. Tickets are $12 each and are available at the Blackville Credit Union.

Bring yourself, a friend or a family member! The Friends of Seamen’s Hospital Craft Group has weekly get-togethers on Wednesdays at Seamen’s Hospital in Douglastown. Everyone is welcome to attend! Bring your project, your lunch and $3 for the day. We popped in for a visit and took photos of their projects which included quilting, needlepoint, swedish weaving and tatting!
