The Annual Metepenagiag “Red Bank” PowWow will be taking place from July 26th to 28th, 2019 on the Pow Wow Grounds located at 2156 Micmac Road.
On Sunday, July 28th, 2019, from 4 pm to 6 pm, come and bring yourself, a friend or a family member out for a delicious Cold Plate Supper – by eating it in or taking it out from and in support of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church (Our Lady of Hope Parish), located at 306 Water Street in Miramichi (Chatham Head). The Blackville Firemen’s Club will host their annual fundraising canoe run “Splashdown” on Saturday, July 20th, 2019 from the mouth of the Cains River to the Blackville Municipal Park. Registration and poker hands ($10 per hand and includes a burger and pop) will begin at 11 AM prior to the run at the mouth of Cains. There will be a bbq at the halfway point. Burgers and hot dogs will be available to purchase. Come on out, enjoy the river and support the Blackville Firemen’s Club.

The 3rd Annual MAST “Miramichi Art Studios Tours” will be taking place from July 26th to 28th, 2019 at various home studios along the Mighty Miramichi region. Studio Times will be from 10 am to 5 pm.
Beginning Thursdays, July 4th, Fridays July 5th and Saturdays, July 6th, come out the Newcastle Public Library, located at 100 Fountain Head Lane, for a Summer Breakfast Program. Admission is FREE and this breakfast is open to Kids and Teenagers and will be held on those days from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.
The Newcastle Rotary Club is donating funds to help children improve literacy this summer. Last year Miramichi was the first city in New Brunswick to launch a city-wide campaign to reduce summer learning loss. This year Cradle to Career Miramichi is further enhancing their efforts and they are working with Frontier College to offer free summer camps for children who are struggling with reading.
Camp Sheldrake is an overnight outdoor adventure summer camp for youth and teens that offers leadership building, hiking, archery, canoeing, arts and crafts and so much more. It is situated on 150 acres in Bartibog, boasts two waterfronts, several kilometers of woodland trails and overlooks the beautiful Miramichi River. This year it is celebrating it’s 20th year of existence.
