Rotary Club of Chatham presents “Miramichi’s Biggest Saint Patrick’s Day Bash” -“Raglan Road 4.0”

On Saturday, March 16th, 2019, come out from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am to the Miramichi Civic Centre, 487 King George Highway in Newcastle as the Rotary Club of Chatham presents “Miramichi’s Biggest Saint Patrick’s Day Bash” – “Raglan Road 4.0”. The doors will open at 8:00 pm and will close at 11:30 pm. Tickets are $20.00 and sold in advance at the N & J Convenience, 447 King George Highway, in Newcastle and at the Family Convenience Ltd., 231 Wellington Street, in Chatham. The proceeds of this event will go towards the Sistema Miramichi Program.

The Salt Spring National Art Prize Calls to Artists Across the Nation

Submissions are now open for the prestigious 2019/2020 Salt Spring National Art Prize (SSNAP). Salt Spring, a small Canadian island known for its large artistic community, created this exciting national art competition in 2015 to celebrate and promote the importance of art in Canada. As one of the largest national art prizes in Canada, the third biennial event offers $40,000 in prize money and significant national exposure to artists.

Variety Show Fundraiser for Blackville Region Dancers

Abby Keenan and Anna Sturgeon of Barnettville have been chosen to represent Canada and compete at the Dance World Cup in Portugal in 2019! Over 6000 dancers and 40 countries are expected to attend the world finals in Europe next summer and these local athletes will be among them.

The bulk of the stories centre around two couples, Sean O’Reilly and Amy Black, and Floyd Harris and his wife Beverley.

Miramichi NB rock and roll singer/songwriter Art Murphy has released a new EP entitled “Dreams And Memories”. The EP includes his compositions,”City Nights”, “Foggy Air City Lights”, “Party Of One”, “Till The End” and “My Nelson Girl”. There are also 2 songs on the EP that Art released as singles in 2006 and 2007. The 2 bonus selections are the songs “Butte Montana” and “The Last Buoy Bell”. EP’s will be available at Salt Water Sounds in Miramichi NB as well as other locations around the province as of Oct 1 2018.

From Friday, September 28th, 2018 to Sunday, September 30th, 2018, come out to the Little Southwest Baptist Church, located at 2601 Route 420 Highway in Sillikers for In Times Like These: Missions Festival with Wendell Calder and Dave Mumford at the Little Southwest Baptist Church. Each service will begin at 7:00 pm. On Saturday evening, September 29th, 2018, their will be a Pot Luck and a Mini Concert starting at 5:30 pm. The guest speaker for the weekend is Wendell Calder with special music by Dave Mumford. All are welcome to attend!

1st Annual Napan Show and Shine

The 1st Annual Napan Show & Shine will be held on  Friday, September 14th, 2018 at the Napan Community Hall, 224 South Napan Road, in Napan. It starts at 4:00 p.m. with the draws at 6:30 p.m. Registration is $5.00 a vehicle, and the first 25 vehicles that are registered get a dash plaque – People’s Choice Award!!

Miramichi Community [Newcastle] Food Bank Labour Day Fundraiser – Concert, BBQ and Bake Sale

On Monday, September 3rd, 2018 [Labour Day] come out to the Beaverbrook Kin Centre, 100 Newcastle Boulevard to the Labour Day Fundraiser for the Miramichi Community [Newcastle] Food Bank. Admission is a Cash Donation at the Door. Hosted by Susan Butler, this event kicks off at 12:00 pm noon with an Indoor BBQ and Bake Sale, with the Concert from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Sunday afternoons, from September 2nd to September 23rd, 2018 beginning at 2:00 pm on the grounds of Friends of Île Beaubears Island Interpretive Centre / Bicentennial Park, 35 Saint Patrick’s Drive, Miramichi – Nelson Miramichi, New Brunswick till 4:00 pm. Admission is a Free-Will offering, and there is a 50/50 draw each afternoon to benefit the entertainers.
