CM Productions is proud to present Neil Simon’s classic comedy California Suite at the Vogue Theatre this April.

The play features four scenes whose action takes place in rooms 203 and 204 in the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Sometimes poignant and often hilarious, this is an event not to miss.

Featuring: Grace Steeves, Raean Reynolds, Lauren McCabe, Samantha Lobban, Emily L’Huillier, Thomas Hare, Tristan Eisnor, Herschell Berggren and Franky Corcoran.

Show dates are: Thursday, April 11th, Friday, April 12th, Saturday, April 13th and Sunday, April 14th, 2019 all at 7 PM.

The Saint James and Saint John United Church Drama Troupe will be presenting ”The Mapleton Die-Nasty” : A Dessert Theater, beginning Friday, April 12th, 2019 to Sunday, April 14th, 2019. A humorous and light-hearted comedy of four sisters who have gathered to hear the reading of the will of their deceased wealthy parents. The doors open at 6:30 pm and showtime is at 7:00 pm all at the Saint James and Saint John United Church Centre, 556 King George Highway, in the former Town of Newcastle. On Saturday, May 4, 2019, Vienna-based pianist John Dupuis returns to Miramichi with a programme of great music by Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Schubert, and the contemporary Canadian composers Gallant and Louie. The doors open at 7:00 pm, with concert to start at 7:30 pm at the Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 360 Newcastle Boulevard.

James M. Fisher of the Miramichi Reader shares this book review ”Through Sunlight and Shadows” by the late Raymond Fraser. Sadly, Through Sunlight and Shadows would prove to be Raymond Fraser’s swan song, as he passed away just a few short months after its publication.

It is his fourteenth book of fiction and is an all-new volume of “memoirs” of his fictional/semi-autobiographical character, Walt Macbride.

Pauline Young of Pauline Young Art is pleased to announce her new Art Exhibition – “I Am Mik’maq” (Ni’n na Mi’gmaw)” It will be beginning Friday, March 22nd, 2019, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Galerie Artcadeienne at the Carrefour Communitaire Beausoleil, 300 Beaverbrook Road, in Miramichi West (Newcastle). The exhibit will run daily from Friday, March 22nd, 2019 to Tuesday, April 30th, 2019.

The variety show begins at 7:00 pm on Sunday evening, February 17th,, at the Saint Andrew’s Anglican Church Hall, located at 214 Pleasant Street, in Newcastle (Miramichi West). Admission is a Free-Will Offering, with a lunch to follow afterwards. This evening is full of: Music and Song, Jokes, Poetry, Fashion Show and Some Surprise Special Guests!!

From Thursday, February 21st, 2019 to Saturday, February 24th, 2019, come out to the Miramichi Valley High School, located at 345 McKenna Avenue in Newcastle to their drama club’s presentation of “Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple” Tickets are $15.00 and can be purchased at the door.

On Saturday, March 16th, 2019, come out from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am to the Miramichi Civic Centre, 487 King George Highway in Newcastle as the Rotary Club of Chatham presents “Miramichi’s Biggest Saint Patrick’s Day Bash” – “Raglan Road 4.0”. The doors will open at 8:00 pm and will close at 11:30 pm. Tickets are $20.00 and sold in advance at the N & J Convenience, 447 King George Highway, in Newcastle and at the Family Convenience Ltd., 231 Wellington Street, in Chatham. The proceeds of this event will go towards the Sistema Miramichi Program.

Submissions are now open for the prestigious 2019/2020 Salt Spring National Art Prize (SSNAP). Salt Spring, a small Canadian island known for its large artistic community, created this exciting national art competition in 2015 to celebrate and promote the importance of art in Canada. As one of the largest national art prizes in Canada, the third biennial event offers $40,000 in prize money and significant national exposure to artists.

Come out and ring in the 2019 New Year to a New Year’s Dance featuring “WILD COUNTRY” at the Father Morrissey Hall, across from Saint Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, located at 88 Bartibog Church Road, in Bartibog Bridge, just 15 minutes from the City of Miramichi. The doors open at 9:00 pm, and will close at 1:00 am.
