On Saturday, June 15th, 2019, from 1 pm to 3 pm, come out to the Newcastle Public Library for a Miramichi Book Launch: The Great Trees of New Brunswick (2nd Edition), by authors Tracy Glynn and David Palmer. The book will be available for sale on that day courtesy of the Conservation Council of New Brunswick. This event is free and open to the public. Presented by the Newcastle Public Library and Goose Lane Editions.

The informal community theatre troupe, assembled by the Friends of Beaubears Island, has, since 2014, brought history to life on the stage, but they’ve never done anything quite like this. In their pursuit to help raise funds to extend the employment of area students interpreting the past on Beaubears Island, they plan to present not one, but five stories, in one fun-filled performance. Tall and True is a five-part theatrical production charting the course of 6 Beaubears Island vessels, and what became of them after leaving Miramichi. The performance will hit the stage at the Beaverbrook Kin Centre from April 26-28, starting at 7pm.
