Miramichi author Doug Underhill and Nimbus Publishing have truly done the Atlantic salmon sportfishing industry a service by bringing the story of Bryant Freeman to bookshelves. A quiet, unassuming man, Mr. Freeman is well-known and loved by many who fish the Miramichi River and its tributaries.
The New Brunswick Aboriginal Art Exhibition will be at the Newcastle Public Library from April 28th until May 23rd. The official opening of the exhibit will be on April 28th from 2-4 PM. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Artist Gloria Savoie is to give a demonstration of her art at the Newcastle Farmers Market, Miramichi on Friday, March 9th. Ms. Savoie is Miramichi Artist in Residence for a project funded by the NB Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture. The project is aimed at raising awareness of the arts in the area, engaging the public and challenging the artist to explore new approaches to her art.
