New Brunswick, part of the Canadian Songwriter Challenge

Music / Musique NB (MNB) is presenting its third annual edition of the Canadian Songwriter Challenge, May 17 to 20 in St. Andrews. The project pairs local and national songsmiths for a collaborative multi-day songwriting camp. The creative sessions will conclude with a Songwriters’ Circle, as part of the Paddlefest schedule.

The 2017 WordSpring Festival is happening May 26th, 27th and 28th, 2017 at the Hilton Saint John and Saint John Free Public Library. It is the annual literacy festival for the Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick (WFNB). Last year the event happened in Miramichi.

Second Annual New Brunswick Book Awards

The Fiddlehead and the Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick (WFNB) have announced the shortlisted titles for the second annual New Brunswick Book Awards. The winners will be announced at an awards presentation ceremony on Wednesday May 24th, at the University of New Brunswick;s Memorial Hall in Fredericton.

The New Brunswick Youth Orchestra created the NBYO distinction awards in 2006 on the occasion of its 40th anniversary as an annual awards program to recognize exemplary leadership and contribution to the development of the orchestra.

NB Annual Writing Competition goes Digital with $2600 in Prizes

The Writers’ Federation of New Brunswick (WFNB) encourages all New Brunswickers to submit their poems, stories or creative essays to its 2016-17 Writing Competition. The contest opened on December 9th, 2016. Deadline for entries is March 3, 2017. All submissions must be made electronically through the WFNB website.
