Miramichi Through Our Artists Eyes

Hello artists!

Once again we are planning a section called “Miramichi Through Our Artists Eyes”, in the annual Mighty Miramichi River Guide. The section will include photos of artwork that depict the Miramichi Region – scenery, streetscapes, historic locations, events, attractions, etc.

To participate:  • send a photo of your artwork • the artists name  • name/description of the work  • location or subject matter depicted  • website link and/or social media handles  • optional: you can include additional information such as if you have a studio people can visit, if prints of the piece are available for sale, if commissions are accepted, etc.

Photos should be high resolution (the bigger the file size the better). If you are sending them from your phone or ipad, check your settings and make sure the “original size” is being sent. Sometimes the programs automatically resize photos when emailing them.

You can submit more than one piece, and I will make every effort to include at least one from each artist, but this will depend on the amount of submissions received.  You can also resubmit any photos that were not printed in previous years.

PLEASE forward and share this with other artists and groups you are involved with or send me their email addresses. All artists and mediums are welcome!

The deadline for this is Monday, April 7th.  Send to submit@mcgmedia.net  with River Guide Art Submission in the subject line.

Also if you have events planned for this year, submit them to the River Guide so we can help spread the word. (paint-outs, studio tours, classes, exhibits, etc.)

I am excited to see your submissions! If you don’t have a copy of the River Guide to see what its like, you can view it at www.riverguide.ca

We are very fortunate to have such accomplished artist as Cathleen Richards Green ,and Gloria Savoie ,who both received King Charles Medal for their contributions to Canada. Marvellous work ladies. The arts are flourishing in our community. Thank you to all the artist out there that help make memories and emotions of life noticeable and most of all memorable .

This is a good thing for our community. Art has the power to unify and it’s great therapy in these difficult times.
