Books, Coffee and Gift Ideas at ARM Book Nook
The ARM Book Nook is coming into the holiday season with a new look, a new neighbor, and ready to help you find the perfect book to curl up with by the fire. They have a large assortment of gently used books from all genres, as well as puzzles, board games and DVD’s. Many are just like new and perfect for gift giving!
The ARM Book Nook is operated by Autism Resources Miramichi which provides programs and services to people affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder. They receive funding from the provincial government which covers expenses for four months of the year, and the balance of the funds they require comes from fundraising events, donations, and sales from the bookstore.
Cindie Green, director of the Community Autism Resource Center says the people of Miramichi have always been very supportive. “We are very appreciative of the support from the Miramichi community, especially the donation of the building from SkyTec Satellite,” she says. “This generous support from the community enables our team of volunteers to lead the way in services offered in New Brunswick. For example, we are the only place that offers work skill programs only focused on Autism.”
Cali.Co Café opened right next door to ARM Book Nook in August of this year. The café, owned by Caleigh Chadwick, and the ARM Book Nook, are two separate entities that decided to collaborate and work together by opening the space so customers can browse the books and enjoy their coffee at the same time. Buy a book and stay for a coffee! Come for the coffee and buy a book!
ARM Book Nook is located in Douglastown at 1 Allan Street. Contact them at Call (506) 352-8137 or on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/armbooknook/
