Northumberland Kent Legionnaire of the Year Announced


 The presentation to Cathy Delong from  Northumberland-Kent Honours and Awards Chair Tom Daigle.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 3 Chatham recently had one of their volunteers’ named Legionnaire of the Year for the District of Northumberland- Kent.

Cathy Delong was pleasantly surprised when her name was announced as the recipient of this years award.

Comrade Delong has dedicated many hours to the Chatham Branch 3 Legion through her volunteerism with the Legion Bingo, 50/draw which are weekly events, setting up the tables for functions, a Greeter for events hosted by the Legion, assisting in the Kitchen and any other tasking that my required by the branch.


RCL Branch 3 Chatham President Ted Quann, Branch #3 Honour and Awards Marianne Harris, Past Commander for Northumberland – Kent Stella Ward, Legionnaire of the Year Cathy Delong and Northumberland-Kent Honours and Awards Chairman Tom Daigle.

Delong’s name was submitted by the RCL Branch 3 Honours and Awards chair, Marianne Harris for consideration.

The presentation was made by Northumberland-Kent District Honours and Awards Chair Tom Daigle. Prior to the presentation Comrade Daigle stated, “As the nominees were being reviewed, this name kept coming forward.” He was pleased to present the District Northumberland-Kent Legionnaire of the Year Award to Cathy Delong.

In attendance for the presentation was Past District Commander Stella Ward. Congratulations were also extended to Comrade Delong by the RCL Branch 3 President Ted Quann on behalf of the membership.
