A Friday Afternoon at Canada’s Irish Festival on the Miramichi
Photos and Story by Anthony McLean
From now until this Sunday is the 32nd Canada’s Irish Festival on the Miramichi in the former Town of Chatham/ Miramichi East.
I had a terrific opportunity of attending Friday afternoon’s vendors and entertainment held at Waterford Green.
Some of these vendors are here for the first time, especially “Chi Worthy Clothing and Apparel”, featuring some new clothing specially designed and labelled for the Miramichi Irish Festival, “Sweet Soapery” operated by Tessa Clancy featuring Hand and Homemade Soaps and Scrubs, and returning exhibitor, “Atlantic Pewter and Glass” of Harvey, just outside Fredericton.
Following my visit, I headed over to the Chatham Public Library to explore the display of the Miramichi Genealogy Society. The display features many great resources on Censuses, Marriages, Vital Stats, Family Trees, Obituaries, and Church Records. A member of the society is available to help you with your research until 5 pm today and from 1:30 to 5 pm tomorrow.
So if you aren’t busy this weekend, make time to explore Canada’s Irish Festival.
For more information visit them on their website at CanadasIrishFest.com and on Facebook.
