First Bus Tour of the Season Hosted by ‘Lord Beaverbrook’
The summer-long Encounters with Lord Beaverbrook at Lord Beaverbrook’s childhood home in Newcastle kicked off last week when a bus tour of over 40 people toured the house and were introduced to this year’s Lord Beaverbrook portrayed by Kevin Brawn. His convincing portrayal of the wealthy financier, politician, author, publisher, and British Minister of War Production during World War II was well received.
This tour on June 29th was the first of many Encounters & Tea with Lord Beaverbrook that will be held from 2-4 pm on Sundays throughout the summer starting July 10th. Reservations are required and admission is $12.
Visitors will enjoy an Encounter & Tea with Lord Beaverbrook. Hear his stories of his time dealing with the Battle of Britain as well as other stories while he served as the Minister of War Production under Sir Winston Churchill, then Prime Minister of Britain.
The Beaverbrook Historic House is open Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 12 noon to 5 pm. General guided tours are $5.
