Ironmen Split On The Island
The Chatham Miramichi Honda Ironmen made their first trip to PEI on Saturday June 4th and came home with a split in the doubleheader.
In game one the Ironmen lost 7-0. Junior pick up Colby Cormier and Kris Keating had the Ironmen hits.
In game two the Ironmen pulled off a 4-3 extra inning win. Ronnie Dickson started and pitched 4 innings giving up 2 earned runs. Junior pick up Tyler King tossed 5 innings giving up one earned run and picking up the win. Orry Cook had a single, stolen base and 2 RBI. Kris Keating had a single and an RBI which came with two out and two strikes in the top of the 7th to tie the game. Colby Cormier had a game winning RBI single in the 9th. Gary Ryder and Aaron Noel each had one hit and a run scored while Jimmy Russell had a single.
Next game for the Ironmen is when they host the Fredericton Royals on Thursday June 9th in a 7:30 start.
