Canadian Multicultural Day Celebrations in Miramichi
The Canadian Multicultural Day celebration was held on Saturday June 27th at the Goodie Shop Restaurant and was hosted by the Miramichi Regional Multicultural Association.
Canadian Multiculturalism Day is an opportunity to celebrate our diversity and our commitment to democracy, equality and mutual respect and to appreciate the contributions of the various multicultural groups and communities to Canadian society.
The event in Miramichi brought together all nationalities to celebrate with international music and dance and tasting dishes from a variety of cultures. A large crowd attended including dignitaries, Hon Tilly O’Neill Gordon and Mayor Gerry Cormier.
The celebration featured Isabella Imperatori, Dr. Eduardo Morales, Angel Lagman, Filipino Miramichier Dance performance, a Cuban dance performance, food tasting and henna tattoos.
