Fusion Fest This Weekend
The 5th Miramichi Fusion Festival takes places this Saturday, June 8th, 2013 at the Golden Hawk recreation facility and surrounding area.
Fusion Festival is an all day annual event which sees many groups and fun activities coming together for a day of community involvement, youth participation and fun. It is a festival for the whole family, especially promoting our youth in an inclusive environment.
Some of the activities planned this year are:

Flea Market
The objective is to create an open event with emphasis on youth involvement which encourages the community to come together, providing an opportunity to raise awareness of self, community, volunteer-ism, supporting a local cause in a fundraising capacity and encouraging youth in support of the City’s Wellness Strategy.
This year, Autism Resources Miramichi Inc. will be the recipient of all funds raised. Autism is a neurological disorder which affects communication, social and behavioural issues. Today one in 150 children being born will have an Autism Spectrum Disorder. It is the fastest growing childhood disorder.
Autism Resources Miramichi Inc. is a local non- profit Resource Centre committed to supporting families and individuals in Northumberland County living with Autism while providing education to the community about the disorder. They offer many free valuable services. This organization has many goals, and needs the help of the community to meet some of their financial challenges. This event also raises the awareness of Autism, and provides an opportunity to involve the youth to help other youth with disabilities.
