Peace Begins with Me
Remembrance Dinner Theatre & Song ‐ Nov. 10
by Johannes Bosma
“Peace Begins with Me” is the theme of this year’s
Remembrance Dinner Theatre & Song, held at the Kin
Centre on Sunday, November 10, beginning at 5pm. This
year marks the 76th anniversary of the UN Peacekeepers.
Featured will be Canadian Peacekeepers, the Miramichi
Chapter, in particular. Sixteen of its members will be present
and honoured that night.
For 76 years, United Nations peacekeepers have worked
to save and change lives in the world’s most fragile political
and security situations. Since 1948, more than two million
uniformed and civilian personnel have helped countries to
transition from war to peace. The UN Peacekeeping Forces
received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1988.
