Miramichi River Tourism Association and School District 16 are hosting a one day symposium, Engaging Communities through Education and Tourism, Saturday, March 17, focusing on four innovative sessions that will appeal to educators & those in the tourism industry.
· The first will focus on how the Miramichi community has become a classroom for its students, and how those students, in turn, are promoting their community by meeting curriculum outcomes. This session will also appeal to the tourism operator that hires summer students and would like to know how to engage staff with content development.
· The second session focuses on what influence devices, such as I-Pads, I-Phones, and SMART Boards are having on Education and Tourism.
· The third will feature what we need to know about Social Media in order to leverage its potential in both Education and Tourism.
· Last, participants will learn the basics of engaging students in curriculum, and visitors in communities, with SMART Technology in the fourth session.
We feel that this symposium, Engaging Communities through Education and Tourism will not only showcase what the Miramichi has to offer, but also motivate Education and Tourism personnel to take technology to the next level.
Please register today to receive the early bird price of $60.00 plus HST (prior to Feb. 17th, 2012).
