The 22nd Annual Natoaganeg – Eel Ground 1st Nation Annual Pow Wow is going to be held from July 18th to 21st, 2019. It is located at the Pow Wow grounds on Riverview Road East on the Natoaganeg – Eel Ground 1st Nation, overlooking the Miramichi River. It is their community’s cultural, spiritual and social event of the year and time to showcase the drumming, dancing and regalia of the First Nation people. It is a perfect opportunity to experience First Nation Culture at it’s very best.

The Second Annual Community Vigil Service will be held at the Blackville Municipal Park, 158 Main Street on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 7:00pm. This interfaith event allows our communities to gather and reminisce.

Please bring your own candle. Feel free to bring pictures, etc., to honour your loved ones. There will be words of encouragement and prayers offered. The Blackville Fire Department is providing a BBQ – free of charge.Due to the expected large crowd, please bring your own lawn chair if possible.

Singer-songwriter Robert Ross is returning home to Miramichi to release his new CD. Born in Barryville, Miramichi, Robert is now based in Cairns, Australia. He shares his love of music with audiences in pubs, clubs, resorts, private functions and festivals throughout Australia and Canada. He has been busy writing and recording over the past year and is excited to be returning to the Miramichi to share his new CD of 10 original songs: It’s Never Too Late.

Spread the word far and wide of this classical ceilidh and come early as seating is limited.

Sawdustmakers in Action

The Miramichi Senior Sawdustmakers (MSSI) are an active group of retired persons who have a goal: to provide a venue where senior men and women can safely pursue activity that is stimulating mentally, physically, and socially, by working with wood. The non-profit organization provides a workshop with the space and tools for a wide variety of woodworking activities such as carving, turning, cabinetry, and carpentry.

The Miramichi Boys and Girls Club strives to create opportunities and chances for kids from all walks of life. Children and youth from K – Gr 12 go to the Boys & Girls Club.
For some it’s attending evening programs that run throughout the school year. These are free programs. Each roster brings new themes and chances for kids to learn new skills, make new friends and try something new.
