Matt Mott Reading & Book Signing
An enthusiastic audience showed up to the James M Hill (JMH) Learning Commons in the school library in Chathom on Tuesday May 12th to hear Miramichi writer Matt Mott read from his debut collection of horror stories, Finding Woods.
Matt was born and raised on the Miramichi. He graduated from JMH in 2004 as the class valedictorian and continued his education at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Masters in Creative Writing.
His poetry has appeared in The Antigonish Review, he was shortlisted for The Malahat Review’s 2012 Novella Prize, and he has been an Editorial Assistant for Qwerty and The Fiddlehead. He has also been known to warp young minds from time to time, having taught writing and literature at UNB Fredericton and the College of the North Atlantic – Labrador City. He lives and writes in Saint John, New Brunswick.
