Lobster Season Opens

Terry Power captured these photos of the opening day of Lobster Season in Miramichi Bay while on Teddy Williston’s boat. He writes:

“It is amazing how excited the fishermen are for opening day. Many say that every season they get the jitters waiting for that first morning launch blast of the horn! This year the whole school in Baie Ste Anne closed and the student day was from 5:30am to 11:30 am on the wharf. They set up a huge tent and had activities for all the classes. Each boat captain was really touched to receive a gift bag from the students, which included a rosary, lucky penny, and hand written notes from the children of best wishes for a safe and prosperous season.”
