Women anglers have always been frequent visitors to the Mighty Miramichi River but for the last nine years women throughout North America have come to Pond’s Resort in Ludlow for Broads with Rods, an exclusive all-female fly-fishing school.
There’s more to fly-fishing than unflattering waders and tall tales of “the ones that got away”. Broads with Rods delivers the spirit of fly-fishing as well as the technique of the sport. Participants taste the traditional cuisine of the Miramichi River, stay in classic riverfront log cabins, and experience (if the fish cooperate) the challenge of landing a wild fish then releasing it safely back into the river. No prior experience is necessary, just enthusiasm to join the ranks of fly-fishermen around the world.
Broads with Rods includes instruction, professional guiding and personal attention, an orientation dry land session, three four-hour fishing sessions, accommodations, and all meals. Fiddleheads Dining Room offers a menu where traditional recipes from the 1930’s remain the basis of Pond’s creative country cuisine.
