Miramichi Salmon Association Weekly Science Series and Event Updates
Dear MSA Supporters,
We want to provide you with up to date information on our activities and how the MSA is doing its part to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
MSA DINNER EVENTS AND AGM
With the rapidly evolving response to the Covid-19 pandemic, following recommendations of our Chief Medical Officer, the MSA will be cancelling or postponing many of our spring social events at this time. This list includes the following conservation dinners in Miramichi (April 9), Boiestown (May 2) and Moncton (May 21) and moving the Annual General Meeting (May 2) until a later date in the fall (TBD).
CREEL OF FORTUNE
We plan to keep you engaged and will continue to offer the Creel of Fortune lottery on a weekly basis; however we will not continue to pick up toonies at box locations. We ask that all players pay in advance at this time and can do so easily on our website at www.miramichisalmon.ca/creel-of-fortune/ or by calling the office at 506-622-4000.
SCIENCE DAY
In lieu of our regularly scheduled Science Day (May 1), we will be hosting a Weekly Science Series via Zoom on Fridays at 10am beginning March 27th. These will be recorded and placed on our Youtube Channel www.youtube.com/miramichisalmonassociation for viewing at a later date. Please watch for MSA President Mark Hambrook’s video update on our Youtube Channel this Friday March 20th for the full details.
MSA CONSERVATION
We want to assure you that our team, based in South Esk and Fredericton, NB, continue to work full time on behalf of salmon conservation. We are certain that the Atlantic salmon, the Miramichi River and recreational angling will play an active role in maintaining our mental health in the coming months and there is no current plan to halt our conservation programs. We will continue to follow any new guidelines and safety measures put in place by public health. Please follow us on Facebook, check our Website, and watch for updates on our Youtube Channel to stay up to date with what’s happening here at the MSA.
For accurate, up-to-date information on the COVID-19 pandemic, including prevention tips and what to do if you or a loved one is experiencing symptoms, please refer to Public Health Canada resources here and the Government of New Brunswick’s coronavirus resource portal here.
Yours in conservation,
