Atlantic Canada’s Great Outdoors
On the Trails
Getting out on the trails is fun for the whole family and a great way to get outside. Remember using an all-terrain vehicle or snowmobile properly is the first step toward having a safe and enjoyable ride.
The Miramichi Outback Trail Runners ATV Club will provide guided tours upon request. Visit www.miramichiatv.com for a trail map and information about trail permits. The Miramichi Valley Snowmobile Club provides information on snowmobile trail conditions, permits, maps and news on their website at www.miramichisnowmobileclub.com
Mountain Biking
Miramichi is home to some of the best cross-country singletrack in Atlantic Canada! Not only are the trails lots of fun but they are marked quite well too. The trails are kept at a high quality thanks to the local volunteer club, Bike Miramichi. We have close to 20 km of fun, dry mountain bike trails.
The local club maintains and maps the trails and has regular group rides, The annual 4 Hours French Fort Cove event will be on Sunday September 16th, 2018. Mountain Bikers from near and far must do as many laps as they can on a designated course at the cove within four hours. Participants can register as a solo rider or group. Categories for the race includes female, male, group, and youth. More information and a downloadable trail map on www.bikemiramichi.com
Cross Country Skiing
Being outdoors on a bright sunny day in a “winter wonderland” on a pair of cross country skis is a great way to enjoy a Canadian winter while getting some excellent exercise. The Miramichi Cross Country Ski Club, located within Miramichi city limits, has the facilities and programs to help you do just that.
There is a 25 km network of well groomed dedicated ski trails, six km of snowshoe trails and four km of lighted trail for night time skiing. A cozy clubhouse is available with the wood stove always on. For more information visit www.skimiramichi.com.
