Walk For Alzheimer’s May 6
Join the Walk For Alzheimer’s! Hosted by the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick, the Walk for Alzheimer’s Miramichi will take place on Sunday, May 6 at James M. Hill Memorial High School. Registration is at 12:00pm with the Walk starting at 1:00pm.
In New Brunswick alone, an estimated 20% of our population is impacted by dementia either through a diagnosis or from caring for a loved one. The Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick’s mission is to provide the support that families need to get them through the toughest of times, through their entire dementia journey.
They offer programs including:
- Memory Cafe: a social event for people living with dementia and their caregivers with entertainment, education, and refreshments!
- Caregiver Support Network: designed specifically for caregivers – they provide the tools, education, and resources to care for your loved one with dementia.
- Alzheimer Journey: a three-part educational series outlining the early, mid, and late stages of the disease.
- And more!
The support the group receives during the Walk for Alzheimer’s goes towards providing these programs entirely free of charge – right here in New Brunswick!
