Butterflies of the Miramichi Region by Peter M. Gadd
These beautiful butterfly photos show 18 of the 60 different butterfly species found in the Miramichi Region. These photos were taken by Peter M. Gadd, for the Maritime Butterfly Atlas project that has been conducted for the last six years and is wrapping up this fall. Peter states that French Fort Cove is one local area that has a lot of butterfly species. Over the season, and over the years, 43 species have been recorded there. It is an important habitat and as most butterflies require wild flowers it is important that the wild flowers there are not damaged or destroyed.
