Canada’s Irish Festival is on the Miramichi!
The Irish Festival started yesterday, Thursday July 17th with Irish Flags being risen, the Miramichi Irish Open Golf Tournament with special guest Canada’s Ambassador to Ireland, Kevin Vickers, and Rob Currie’s CD Release Party/ Concert at the Rodd Miramichi River Hotel.
The festival goes into full swing today with free live entertainment on Waterford Green beginning at 11:30 this morning. The official Opening Ceremony happens this evening at 7 pm.
There’s a slight change in tonight’s Pub schedule. Due to unforeseen circumstances Shanneyganock will not be playing at the festival this year. The Friday Pub will now feature McGinty and Raglan Road. Refunds are available at 1745 Water Street if you no longer wish to attend.
Besides all the live performances happening on Waterford Green this weekend there’s a lot taking place including Mass at St. Michael’s Basilica,
Family Fun Day on Middle Island Irish Historical Park, Kidplayhouse Productions presentation of a musicial play called The Raven of Eirean Mhor, Irish Breakfast at St. Michael’s Basilica, an Irish Tea Room at Seasons View Cafe, Geneaology display, Saint Thomas University Alumni Reception, Nelson Doyle Dancers Workshops, and much more.
