Miramichi Striper Cup Success
The first annual Miramichi Striper Cup happened on the weekend and was a great success! Miramichi Mayor Gerry Cormier sounded the horn to officially kick off the competition at 9:30 Saturday morning. Lots of tales were told as anglers fished from both the shore and in boats hoping to catch the biggest bass and bragging rights.
The tournament was divided into team, individual, and youth categories and attracted 840 participants from all over North America.
All entrants were eligible to win the grand prize package valued at $20,500, which consisted of a Princecraft boat with Mercury motor and a trailer, sponsored by Cabano Marine. The lucky winner was 16 year old Shawn Doucet of the Miramichi. Click here to view the final results
