Christmas Concert with James Morrison and the DownEast Entertainers
This is a special Christmas fundraiser for the 63rd Miramichi Folksong Festival with James Morrison and the Down East Entertainers and special guests, Country Cousins Square Dancers, Arthur Strang, Jimmy Lawlor, Christopher Guindon, Bobby Watling Jr. and Susan Butler.
The concert will be on Saturday, December 14 at the Beaverbrook Kin Centre, starting at 7pm. Advance tickets are $15 and $20 at the door. Tickets are on sale at Brookdale Flower Shop and Kingston’s Car Wash. This concert is sponsored by North Shore Construction and Howard Johnsons.
James Morrison is a noted fiddler who has been playing since the age of eight. He was the first Miramichier to be inducted into the New Brunswick Country Music Hall of Fame in 1990. He has played the fiddle in every corner of this province and beyond. He played 20 years on the CTV Christmas Daddies and has played with the Miramichi Folksong Festival for over 30 years and continues to play each year for the New Brunswick Day Breakfast to a packed house. His band, the DownEast Entertainers, includes: Maurice Fleming on piano and sax, from Riverview; Gary Bulmer on drums from Moncton; Elmer MacDonald, Eugene Somers and Bobby Watling senior on guitar from Miramichi; and James Morrison on fiddle.
