Greater Miramichi Regional Service Commission – Solid Waste Services Hosts Green Fair for the Village of Blackville, Village of Doaktown, Rural Community of Upper Miramichi and surrounding areas
MIRAMICHI, November 6, 2018 – In keeping with its mission of being an active contributor to environmental prosperity, Greater Miramichi Regional Service Commission – Solid Waste Services (GMRSC – SWS) is pleased to announce that it’s hosting the 2018 Green Fair – Doaktown. The Green Fair, funded by the New Brunswick Environmental Trust Fund, will be held on November 22nd, 2018 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the Miramichi Atlantic Salmon Museum Inc.
The Green Fair is a celebration of responsible environmental practices aimed to educate and encourage people of all ages to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle. Green Fairs allow participants to visualize how their seemingly insignificant individual efforts can make a difference in their community. Numerous exhibits will be displayed and staff will be on-hand to answer questions on landfilling, transfer stations, recycling, composting, hazardous waste management, waste reduction initiatives and more. The Green Fair will highlight exhibits, demonstrations and hands-on activities. Residents will have the opportunity to learn how to manage the waste that they produce and discover what happens to waste and recyclables once it leaves the curb.
