Intergenerational Family Fun Day was a Success!
On Saturday November 18th, close to 200 people came to the NBCC gym to celebrate National Child’s Day (November 20th).
The FREE event was organized by the Family Resource Centre, the Miramichi Regional Baby Friendly Initiative committee, NBCC and Miramichi Caring Way and was made possible by a regional wellness grant received from the Province of New-Brunswick.
At the Intergenerational Family Fun Day there were many learning and fun activities. A lot of activities were prepared by 19 NBCC students from the early childhood education program. Lunch was catered by Brian Matheson from Mind Full of Food. There were also 11 interactive booths to visit which was a great way for families to learn about the different services available in their community.
It was wonderful to see so many families, including grandparents, mingling, learning, laughing, eating healthy food and having lots of fun together.
We would like to thank everyone that came to the Intergenerational Family Fun Day to celebrate National Child’s Day. We would also like to thank all the local businesses who donated a prize.
We received a lot of good feedback and can’t wait to start planning for next year’s family Day!
