“Still Fishing – Beyond the Escuminac Disaster” Screening
There will be four special screenings this summer in Hardwicke of the local documentary Still Fishing – Beyond the Escuminac Disaster. The film will be shown on Wednesday nights starting at 7 pm on June 28th, July 19th, August 2nd and August 23rd at the Myers Church, 193 Hardwicke Road.
Still Fishing is a documentary about the 35 local fishermen who did not return home on Friday June 19th, 1959. The Escuminac Disaster is one of the worst fishing disasters in Canadian history.
Survivors will be in attendance for a question and answer period after the screening.
