Autism Resources Miramichi Currently Recruiting
Autism Resources Miramichi Inc. is currently looking for young men and women ages 18 and over living with Autism Spectrum Disorder, to participate in an upcoming employment pilot project. This program that will enable the participants to gain the skills sets necessary to be productive members of the workforce, become an entrepreneur or be prepared to return to school.
This project, which will begin in Mid-November, will run Monday – Friday from 9 am to 3 pm. They are currently located at 1 Allan Street suite A, Miramichi, NB, E1V 6A9.
The participants will spend time in the classroom with a qualified teacher then work with a job coach to practice those skills sets and then be brought into our fully operational business, the Book Nook also located in the centre, as a further training tool.
Another valuable portion of the project will allow us to assess the specific skills and interests of each participant and then try and match them to an employment opportunity in the city. Once a job match has been made, the job coach will educate employers in the Miramichi area on the specifics of Autism Spectrum Disorder and then encourage those employers to hire each participant.
The project will be funded by the Government of New-Brunswick.
