Miramichi Scottish Festival this Weekend
The Miramichi Scottish Festival happens this weekend, August 23-25th,2013. Come out and enjoy our Scottish Culture!
The Miramichi Scottish Festival kicks off Friday evening August 23rd with the Tartan Ball at the Rodd Miramichi Hotel. The festivities get under way with a Meet and Greet at 6 pm, followed by the Candlelight Tartan Dinner from 7 to 9 pm that will include Piping in the Haggis and Passing of the Mull. The William Davidson Medals will also be presented at the dinner.
A dance will close Friday night’s activities, running from 9 pm to midnight with entertainment by Sons’ of Gael. Tickets to the Miramichi Scottish Festival Tartan Ball are $40. For more information or to purchase tickets contact Phyllis Mossman at (506)622-0357.
The Annual Kirkin O’ the Tartans Church Service will be held on Sunday August 25th at St. Andrews United Church, 188 Wellington Street in Chatham, beginning at 10 am and will be followed by a Memorial Service and placing of the Memorial Wreath at the Monument in Elm Park. After which a Tea will be held in St Luke’s Hall at St Andrew’s United Church.
Sunday afternoon there will be a number of activities at MacDonald Farm including two Pipe and Drum Bands performing at 1:30 pm followed by the How She Goin’ Band (Ian Craig and members) until 4 pm. Reflect on the past with a tour of the farm! There will be free admission to MacDonald Farm for the afternoon!
