Blackville Community Food Mentors Information Session
A free information session about becoming a Community Food Mentor will be offered by the Greater Blackville Resource Centre and held at the Blackville Village Office on Tuesday, February 19th from 7 to 8 pm.
This will be a free course, open to eight to 12 participants, with participants receiving their Food Safety Certification. Participants will become a Community Food Mentor, and will be encouraged to pass their knowledge onto the community.
Other groups who have completed the training have gone on to do things like start community gardens, collective kitchens, planned information sessions on healthy eating, gotten together as groups to do pickling or learn new skills and much more.
We are excited that Blackville was chosen to take part in this program! Come to the information session to learn more and/ or register to participate.
When we have the participants, together we’ll determine which dates will work best, but we are definitely wanting to start in March after the break.
Giv’er Miramichi is about “What’s up, what’s new, what’s happening”. We are focused on building people up, supporting one another and celebrating our successes.
