Investing in Sunny Corner Enterprise a start says Premier Alward
Alward delivered the 2nd annual State of the Province Address
Premier David Alward says innovation will be the “rocket fuel” for the province’s sputtering economy.
During his state-of-the-province address Thusday night, Jan. 26, Alward said his government can help by fostering the right business climate, educating the province’s youth and training workers. The recent investment in Sunny Corner Enterprise to expand their capacity exporting to the world was one example of putting the Northern Development fund to work today.
Alward says thousands of jobs could be created with further development of the province’s natural gas industry. However, he told a Fredericton business audience that development would not come at the expense of the environment. New Brunswick is on track for its fourth consecutive annual deficit and a net debt that’s expected to top $10 billion. Alward says a new panel on accountability and responsible government will be announced next week. read CBC more
